I did it!

1st year done and only 2 more to go. I only had 2 practicals, 2 assignments, 1 presentation, and 7 finals in 2 weeks, and let me tell you that my motivation was just above caring. But I got to celebrate finishing my finals and the year by heading to Sonoma to celebrate my friend Molly's bachelorette party.

It only took me a flight, a bus and a desperate call to the girls to get to Sonoma from the OC, but every second of traveling was worth it. After 5 hours of travel time I ended up at the cutest bed and breakfast about 0.1 of a mile from down town Sonoma. The Hidden Oak Inn - http://www.hiddenoakinn.com/ I highly suggest staying here if you are in Sonoma. I drank some wine (what else do you do while in wine country) while I got ready with the girls to hit up the town. We went to an amazing Spanish restaurant where I had (of course) more wine and a delicious meal of scallops.

After dinner we made it out to the Irish bar in town where we found some nice gentlemen to buy us shots (Washington apples of course)!
We managed to make it to a second bar (Steiners), which was hopping!

The second day we rented bikes and cycled around Sonoma while drinking wine. Okay we were not cycling around while drinking wine, but we did stop at 3 fabulous wineries and did some major wine tasting.

Gundlach Bunschu Winery was the first place we hit up on our bike and wine tour
Gundlach Bunschu wine cellar. I could drink all of that wine

 At Bartholomew Park Winery

The party at Buena Vista Winery. This is the oldest winery in either California or Sonoma (I can't remember and I am too lazy to look it up), but all I know is that the wine was delicious.
Very old (and not in use) barrels that use to store wine at Buena Vista.
 New friend's from the trip
We dined at El Dorado in down town Sonoma. The food was wonderful. They are known for their truffle french fries. We ordered them, but I was not a fan (although people at the table did highly enjoy them). I was a fan of my heirloom tomato salad and Tuna Tartar.
After dinner the party headed back to Steiners where we meet some fun new friends in fancy outfits.

The weekend was too short. But it definitely was a great way to start my break off just right.

So far I have slept in, exercised, watched TV and read crap books. It has been amazing.

Tomorrow I am heading to Spokane to help Nichole and Trevor celebrate their wedding. I can't wait.

Is anyone taking a fun trips in August?
